Introduction 4424 15
Started by Timo Breumelhof
This “group” started with a conversation Peter Donker and I had about the lack of release testing done by the community. We concluded that the current situation, asking users to test a release in a blog post, has not been very successful as there hasn&39;t been a lot of feedback by testers.
Probably a lot of testers do the same tests.
We both felt that a bit of structure and guidance and could improve testing (results) a lot.
During our workshop / discussion at DNN Connect 2019...

RC 9.5.1 Testing 1353 3
Started by Cody
Tested RC 9.5.1 which fixes a feature using site custom login pages. Users could not click on the submit button in the accept data consent form, however on the mobile form and the popup it worked as expected I believe.
I tested on my beta site and upgraded ok from 9.5 to 9.5.1
I have tested creating users, and a page with login module along with registrations and ability to click submit for accepting data consent after registiration with custom forms login page which works now. ...

New GitHub Issue Labels 856 2
Started by Cody
I am looking for information on the new label definitions being used in GitHub for issues.
I just want to be clear incase I want to spend some time working on an issue if it is one up for grabs. Also I see different levels of difficulty per issue which is interesting to know how those get defined. I understand it is a work in progress and will probably get changed.
One other thing is I am not aware of where I should be posting DNN Platform Source specific discussions. Had...

This isn&39;t a complaint, but simply a request for assistance and/or elimination of a roadblock. I would love it if whoever administers this website/forum could simply resolve my issue and delete this post, but there doesn&39;t seem to be any other way to initiate a dialog other than through the forums.
So here&39;s the request. Would someone please authorize my preferred login - eswanzey / ericswanzey.com. That&39;s it. Once that&39;s done, I hope to delete the account ...

Started by Cody
First off I like to thank the fast response to this latest update. Just flat out AWESOME! Nice work from the reporting to the testing all the way to getting this release to the masses to test. I applaus you and encore!
Everything seems stable and upgraded ok I just found one error in logs so far. I am not sure if this issue is only for this one instance as I update it from one RC to the next as it is my beta site but I did get one error while upgrading.
It may not b...

9.4.3 RC1 Testing Results 964 0
Started by Cody
From an upgrade/user view I have tested most all features I normally use with success. I have a number of modules loaded and I am about to test upgrading modules on this site including some of those that had been affected by the previous release. Anyone catching any major issues that break anything serious can you please the DNN family know here and/or on github so the final release can get fixed as needed. Thank you for all for the awesome community support I wish you all the ...

Discord Open Source 1983 5
Started by Cody
Could a great solution to helping discuss issues with DNN be a Discord Open Source channel. Especially things like last minute questions before releasing an RC as some issues might get posted 5 hours before and if the person in charge of the release does not get a proper notification this can have a bad impact on the community.
You can use voice or leave messages that stay around for when someone logs in. Someone could be Ouch the RC broke my site! and get assistance in real-time...

DNN 09.04.00 RC1 880 1
Started by Timo Breumelhof
As we don&39; have anything definitve setup yet, IMO it would be good that everybody that successfully tested something on the 09.04.00 RC 1 would post a rely to this thread, so we do less duplicate tests. :-)

Scenarios for Manual Testing 1838 5
Started by Vicenç Masanas
Scenarios that cannot be automated should provide an alternative path to be run manually.
In order to allow users the run the manual tests and provide the results to the DNN team, we need to provide the required tools, environments and procedures that users without experience on testing will need in order to run the tests.
Tooling: azing ()
Environment: public (containers, cloud adhoc, ...) vs private
Template to create new cases
How to execute a case
Reporting of results

Tools 1026 4

There have already been a few discusstions about which would be the preferred tool to use for testing. We migth need different tools for different purposes (UI, Unit testing, DB, performance, ...).
Here is a starting list of possible candidates:
Selenium: https://www.seleniumhq.org/
Puppeteer: https://github.com/GoogleChrome/puppeteer
TestCafe: https://devexpress.github.io/testcafe/
Cucumber/Capybara: https://cucumber.io/ - https://github.com/teamcapybara/capybara
