After upgrading to DNN 9.2.2 sometimes when we edit a vocabulary and don't re-select the Parent Term it removes the Term from the tree in the front end.

Looking at the database and I can see the record has changed with the same Parent Term but the TermLeft and TermRight fields are no longer within the TermLeft and TermRight fields of the Parent Term which is used for the display.

Do people know why this is happening and how we can stop this please.

I've investigated more in to this and it looks like if you change the name of the Vocabulary it can break it. This I believe is to do with the SQL procedure that changes the vocabulary. The following script is used to set a Variable of the left Value and if the Name has changed say by removing the last character it finds itself from the order and then it vanishes from the list.

-- Get Left value of Sibling that we are inserting before
                                          SET @Left = (SELECT TOP 1 TermLeft FROM dbo.Taxonomy_Terms
                                                              WHERE VocabularyID = @VocabularyID
                                                                  AND ParentTermID = @ParentTermID
                                                                  AND Name > @Name
                                                              ORDER BY Name)

Is this right? should the name be changed before?
