    Hi everyone,

    My first time posting, not a programmer, looking for suggestions.  My seo guy says DNN (version is 7, but I will be using 9 in the future) creates two versions of a page because it does not automatically end the URL with a backslash, for example domainname/about-us and domainname/about-us/ both exist -- how can I make dnn only and always create domainname/about-us/ with the slash at the end?

      I am not aware of Dnn generating urls with an ending / , are you using some custom url provider or sitemap provider ?

        I just tested in DNN 7 & 9 and the / at the end is removed if you enter it

          I tested one of my DNN 9 sites and was provided a 301 direct 

          https://www.chrishammond.com/About/

          redirected to

          https://www.chrishammond.com/About

              DNN actually creates a few "versions" of the URL depending upon what the name of your page is.

              In addition to what is mentioned above, if you have a space in your page name (with the space reflected as a dash depending upon your settings) then the URL will work with or without the space. Also if you have .aspx at the end of the URL it will work.

              Examples:

              www.mysite.com/about-me will also work as www.mysite.com/aboutme

              www.mysite.com/about-me will also work as www.mysite.com/aboutme.aspx or www.mysite.com/about-me.aspx

              In the examples above, DNN will redirect you to the "master" version of the URL so there shouldn't be an issue with SEO. I'd also suggest forcing lowercase so that you don't end up with multiple "versions of the pages" in analytics due to a case issue.

              Also, if custom modifications to the advanced URL regular expressions are made, you could end up with some interesting combinations and probably force the / at the end of URL's if you really wanted to.
