    Is there a problem with http redirects to https on this site?

    I entered dnncommunity.org in the address bar, no http or https, and http was returned. My firwall then decided it didn't like what it received and blocked it.

    Entering https://dnncommunity.ord works as expected.

    Entering http://www.dnncommunity.org/ redirects to https://dnncommunity.org/

    The problem seems to be with http and no "www".

      Please note that in order to show this you will need to clear browser history and possibly also clear cache.

        Hi Declan,

        thanks for pointing this out... I did that on my web server by adding a rewrite rule like:

        <_rewrite_>
           <_rules_>
              <_rule name="HTTP to HTTPS redirect" stopProcessing="true"_>
                 <_match url="(.*)" /_>
                 <_conditions_>
                    <_add input="{HTTPS}" pattern="off" ignoreCase="true" /_>
                 <_/conditions_>
                 <_action type="Redirect" url="https://{HTTP_HOST}/{R:1}" redirectType="Permanent" /_>
              <_/rule_>
           <_/rules_>
        <_/rewrite_>

        There are more security related issues here. Someone who has access to the server (web.config file and IIS Manager) should contact me asap, I can help if you want.

        Happy DNNing!

          Michael:

          Where did you apply that?

          I have IIS access & see several places in threads https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/archive/blogs/kaushal/http-to-https-redirects-on-iis-7-x-and-higher

          But not sure which route to take.

          I have CPQcart.com workiing with https OK on Chrome but Brave & Edge does not revert to https.

          Thanks in advance for any help

            Lee, first make sure that URL Rewrite is installed (otherwise adding that to your web.config will cause your site to display an error).  Then you can add it to <_system.webServer> element (and make sure there isn't already an existing <_rewrite> element, having two will also cause an error on the site).
