Is it possible to disable a site in DNN 9? I recall doing so in previous versions, but see nothing in 9.6 except to delete a site, something which i do not want to do.

You could remove the site alias. But there is no ‘turn off website’ button AFAIK.
There is a disable page but that’s something else, obviously.

Hmm, right. That might a good improvement to log on github..
The Database entry is still there, AFAIK it's the ExpiryDate field in the Portals Table, you could test if that still works if you set it manually.

          Workaround:

Assign a random Portal Alias for the site you want to disable:  somethingrandom.mysite.com (and add a DNS binding for it)
Create an extra Portal and assign the Portal Alias of the site you want to disable the that portal.
That advantage of this is that you can now set your own "this website is offline" message.

If it's a single portal site, or you want to disable the ENTIRE portal the app_offline trick works well.

I keep a file app_offline.htm.txt in the root of all my IIS sites, so that a quick rename can instantly take an IIS root off line.
            Thanks,
            Richard
