CK Editor in DNN 9.x getting rid of <object> tag and in-line SVG tags

    I can put them in, but then they disappear from the code when I open CK Editor again... they are still visible within the generated HTML


    Is this a bug?

    Is there a way to stop this stripping of the coding?

      1. you can switch the HTML editor to 'text only' - raw mode. Mind you, after saving and opening the HTML editor again, the editor might seem empty. If you switch to raw, you'll find the code again. So, don't 'save' where the HTML editor stripped your code.
      2. You can edit what is being stripped in the HTML Editor manager. This resides under Site Settings - Site behaviour - More. In the tab 'Editor config' you'll find a lot of options. Look for the part that says RemoveFormat (tags and attributes).

      The editor used to be on a page. Since it is part of the PersonaBar, you need to scroll up and down a bit, but it's all there.

        This is a security function of the CKEditor that prevent users form entering unauthorised HTML.
        You can read more about this "ACF" and what editor configuration you can change to prevent this here.

          I disabled ACF on one site (where I really am the only content editor) and that solved the problem in which the editor was removing class attributes from certain tags.

            You can very granularly set ACF, simply swtiching it off is only advisable if there are no "external" users editing content (like in a forum).
