    Hi

    I search the website for the string 'avantgarde'.

    The following behavior occurs with the following search inputs:

    avantgarde => Results
    avant => Results
    ntgar => Results
    gard => Results
    garde => No Results

    The record which I am searching for in the database is: WT47X940EU, Siemens Trockner avantgarde, 9kg, A+++

    Does anyone have a hint for me why the search with 'garde' does not return any results? Thank you very much.

    Kind Regards

    Martin

      Martin,

      there is a switch under Settings :: Site Settings :: Search labeled "Enable Partial-Word Search (Slow)", which is off by default. If you turn it on, you will have the results you are looking for.

      Note: You have to be logged on a superuser (host) to be able to see and change this setting.

      Happy DNNing!

        Hi MIchael

        thanks for your answer. I had already switched to 'Enable Partial-Word Search'. Unfortunately without success.

        Kind Regards

          I'd pose this question in the support forum of lucene.net.
          AFAIK, lucene tries to isolate the base word, which might remove the last character, if it is supposed to be a derivate (plural, genitive, ...)

            Martin,

            have you tried to delete the index and re-build it?

            Happy DNNing!

                Martin,

                if you have direct access to the server, you could try to stop the application pool, delete all files in the folder [WebRoot]/App_Data/Search and start the application pool again. You need to wait some time until the index is rebuilt, depending on the size of your web site.

                Hope it helps... (otherwise I am running out of ideas, I would suggest to follow Sebastian's post...)

                Happy DNNing!

                  Hi Michael

                  unfortunately no changes in the behaviour. I will follow Sebastian's suggestion. Thank you for your effort.

                  Kind Regards
                  Martin
