    We upgraded our DNN website to DNN 9.7.1. (with AF version 5.7.16) and now we get this error:

    [NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
       DnnSharp.Common.InitCommonDlls.Utils.WebConfig..ctor() +155
       DnnSharp.Common.InitCommonDlls.AppStartup.ExecuteStartupTasks() +296
       DnnSharp.Common.InitCommonDlls.AppStartup.Initialize() +8

    [InvalidOperationException: The pre-application start initialization method Initialize on type DnnSharp.Common.InitCommonDlls.AppStartup threw an exception with the following error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object..]
       System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.InvokePreStartInitMethodsCore(ICollection`1 methods, Func`1 setHostingEnvironmentCultures) +890
       System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.InvokePreStartInitMethods(ICollection`1 methods) +167
       System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CallPreStartInitMethods(String preStartInitListPath, Boolean& isRefAssemblyLoaded) +133
       System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.ExecutePreAppStart() +178
       System.Web.Hosting.HostingEnvironment.Initialize(ApplicationManager appManager, IApplicationHost appHost, IConfigMapPathFactory configMapPathFactory, HostingEnvironmentParameters hostingParameters, PolicyLevel policyLevel, Exception appDomainCreationException) +746

    [HttpException (0x80004005): The pre-application start initialization method Initialize on type DnnSharp.Common.InitCommonDlls.AppStartup threw an exception with the following error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object..]
       System.Web.HttpRuntime.FirstRequestInit(HttpContext context) +552
       System.Web.HttpRuntime.EnsureFirstRequestInit(HttpContext context) +122
       System.Web.HttpRuntime.ProcessRequestNotificationPrivate(IIS7WorkerRequest wr, HttpContext context) +737

    Looks like the latest version of DNNSharp Action Form isn't compatible with DNN 9.7.1.

    I assume DNNSharp will release a fix within the next days

      Go back and check the release notes for 9.7.1. There was a problem that surfaced after release, and a work-around has been posted. I don't know if this problem is the one affecting you, but you should check.

      You should also contact support at DNNSharp regarding this issue. They should be able to help you, including updating the module if that is necessary. (I would say don't make assumptions, but make sure that they know about this.)

        Reaction of DNNSharp:

        We were able to reproduce that there are issues with our products and 9.7.
        A fix for the issue you mention is possible late next week at the earliest and maybe as long as several weeks away.

            New Around Here

              Already did Joe. THey provide links to the download site which has a HotFix and a stable version

              https://www.dnnsharp.com/...AFORM&v=05.07.17

              https://www.dnnsharp.com/...AFORM&v=05.09.11

              Not clear if these are the solution but leads to a new question. How can I load these if I can't get to the UI to install the extension? I've tried overlaying the 9.7.1 upgrade package and including the hot fix into the install/ module directory but when I try to run the upgradewizard I get the regular .Net error page.

              Is there a way for me to install this hot fix if the site isn't coming up?

                Does that mean that you are unable to get to the Personal Bar's Extensions page?

                  Yes, there are new versions which you need to install before upgrading DNN
