When changing a user's roles, in either the Users or Roles form, there's a "Send email" checkbox which is ticked by default.  I would prefer it unticked!

I don't think there's a setting for this, so presumably there's an .ascx somewhere with "checked=true".  But I can't find it!  In fact, where is all the code for the Persona bar functionality?

      Hi,

Sorry, I am not a specialist for PersonaBar, but the code is here: DesktopModules/Admin/Dnn.PersonaBar

PersonaBar is not ascx, but client-side stuff.

      Happy DNNing!

Thanks for that - pointing me in the right direction.  So the source code is somewhere in Dnn.AdminExperience.  Which doesn't appear to be included in the "DNN Platform Full Application Source Code" download.

Given that I'm new to React and have no idea what to do with the source code, I think I'll leave well alone and put up with the inconvenience.

Here's a direct link to the reference you need to change from true to false:

Keep in mind that you'll need to bundle (compile) the react code for use in production and that you'll need to do this every time you update the DNN version. If you think this change is useful for others, feel free to create an issue and explain in the DNN github repo.
