Hi all,
I wonder if it is possible/desired to write a blog post in another language than English. I found blog posts in Spanish on the Community Blog on the dnnsoftware.com site, and I always thought that this is a good idea (even if I don't understand a word :-)) to appeal to a wider audience that don't speak or read English so well.
If this is possible/desired, there should be a language tag to be able to filter blog posts by language (only the language, not the culture).
What are your opinions?
Happy DNNing! Michael

I'm usually writing those posts in Spanish, and I'll write again, from now on at dnncommunity.org, as I come back from holiday by August 1st.
I agree with Michael that filtering and/or giving more visibility to those "non-English" posts will be very useful.
Best, Francisco
To be honest I never liked the blog post in other languages on the other site. (not the post themselves, but mixing multiple languages in a list) I find it confusing and to me it's not good practice to handle multiple language in DNN that way (simply mixing both). If someone cannot read english, the rest of the site is pretty much useless as it's all in English. When you want to blog in "other languages" I would either do that using core localization (create an ES bplog page) or on a separate page without localization.
Francisco and Timo, thanks for the answers. I agree with Timo, it could be confusing when all languages are displaed. Therefore, I support the idea of separating them, but I think that a language tag with a filter (and "English" could be default) would solve the problem as well. Or another page that links to DNN specific blogs, with RSS modules that display the titles of latest 3 or 4 or 5 articles (incl. links to) and (module) titles like "Michaels Blog (in German)" or "El blog de los entusiastas hispanohablantes de DNN (in Spanish)". I started this discussion anyway only to cross-post my blog to this site... Happy DNNing! Michael
I would create separate page for these languages TBH. Also because in that case you can set the correct language parameters for SEO. Or.. de.dnncommunity.org?
