The issue is still live with me with my latest site (V9.10.02). I have thrown this back at DNN4less to investigate.

Do other people use this company and if so was this ever an issue?

DNN4less is well known. So, they should be able to help
Weird thing is that you mention CKeditor version 2.x while DNN is using CK4

Well a small breakthrough. DNN4less have undertaken some work and found that the relative links are created correctly until they add the SSL certificate, it doesn't appear it matters if it is a https redirect or not. Whenever the site is on https it has the absolute URL issue, however on http it works.

        Thoughts?

All my sites are now at 9.11.00 and I still have this problem. Any new information?

So weird. I've also never seen this issue before.  What else has DNN4Less said?  Have they detailed what they do for this customized version of DNN?  It sounds like something unique to that.

The latest on this from DNN4less is that in testing, the URLs are created relative for HTTP sites but once there is an SSL certificate then the URLs are created Absolute.

They raised an issue on GitHub but received no response and the ticket was closed with no resolution.

Did they happen to provide a link? Did they also happen to say whether or not this is happening to more client accounts, other than yours?  This still sounds like something unique to whatever they're doing, so far.  🤷🏽‍♂️
