    Hello

I have just run a Telerik Identifier on my DNN 9.8.00.

The Telerik Report stated I have no unexpected dependencies on Telerik.

However, it highlighted  the following unexpected:

During processing, we were unable to view the dependencies for the following assemblies. You will need to manually verify any Telerik dependencies of these items.

libwebp.dll (The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131018))

I am not sure where to look for this file and what to do if I find it.  I would appreciate any advice on this matter.

    Thank you in advance.

I think that you will need to figure out which module this belongs to. Do you use 2sxc? If so, which version?

Thank you for your reply Joe.

Yes I am using 2scx app version 11.7.0. What do you suggest I do?

        Thanks

I don't have any knowledge about Telerik dependencies in libwebp.dll, but my impression is that the 2sic guys have been ruthless in removing Telerik dependencies from their stuff. So, you might be safe.

The latest seems to be 11.11.00, you'd probably Be safe. As you are upgrading from DNN 0.9.0, you might want to try upgrading 2sxc before upgrading DNN.

You might also consider ugrading 2sxc to the most recent module that offers LTS ... just in case.

Just make sure that you take good file and database backups so that you can go back if something goes wrong.

I upgraded 2scx to 11.11.3 as suggested and ran the Telerik identifier but the same 'Unexpected Error' was still showing.

Where does the unexpected error appear? Is it during the upgrade?

No it only shows up as part of the Telerik Dependency Report.

                  It states:
Success! No unexpected dependencies on Telerik were discovered. You should have a reasonable expectation of being safe to uninstall Telerik per the 9.8.0 instructions.

OK. In that case, I would probably assume that the file is ok and go ahead with the upgrade, hold my breath, and see what happens.

I'd also do the upgrade using a copy of the production site on a test server. In that case, if the upgrade fails you wouldn't have killed the live site.

I'd probably also try to verify that the file is part of 2sic. Maybe the easiest way to do this is to start with a clean DNN 9.8.0 and check for the presence of libwebp.dll. If it's not there, install 2sxc and check again. Then you at least know where it comes from. Maybe also check with the guys at 2sic and ask them.

But, I'd probably just check the upgrade and see if it works with 9.8.1. It will take less time to do that than the time we've already spent discussing this!

Thank you for your detailed and valuable advice Joe, I was totally lost regarding how to resolve this issue. I am wondering if this file belongs to an earlier version that remained after the upgrade.

I will do as you suggested.
