The case of the disappearing content

Hi, has anyone else had this issue?

    1. You start with a current page with content.
    2. You start to add an existing module to the page from some other page.
    3. You realize you chose the wrong module so instead of placing the floating box on the page you try to discard it.
    4. All the content on the page disappears.
    5. You check the version history, recycle bin, and the database, but the content is gone, just gone.

    We're using Evoq Content 09.06.02.

Check the page settings and see if the other modules have disappeared or not.

If the modules are there, you can edit them from the page settings to verify is content is in the modules.

Thanks for the reply. But, the modules are not there. They are gone, gone, gone.

Yes, recycle bin, history, even the database.

              hmm, ok.
next guess: you mentioned, you are using Evoq Content. Did you check TabVersions table, which is Evoq specific?

According to our IT guy, there does not appear to be any content in that table. It is just tabid, version, timestamp and a few other fields.

there is no content in database table Tabs as well, which represent a page, because the content is stored in modules (tables Modules and tabmodules, as well as module specific tables.
Using tables Tabs and TabVersions, you might get the references to look for proper records in the other tables and get hints, why the content disappeared. Was a new tab version created, when the content disappeared?

It's also worth checking the Page Settings for the page in question to see if the modules are showing in the settings. I've seen Evoq sometimes oddly "hide" the modules from the page in the past. If the page was not "published" and the modules were part of new content, discarding the page updates might have also gotten rid of the work-in-progress.

Have you opened a ticket with DNN Corp yet?
