DNN Search crawler and deleted items

New Around Here

The DNN version 9.8 website in question implements EasyDNNNews news module. Some of the content editors of this website are getting annoyed that EasyDNNNews articles they have deleted still figure among the search results from the DNN (Lucene) search engine after the sitecrawler has run.
It seems awkward that the only way of getting rid of these faulty search results would be through a manual action from the website host/administrator in deleting the App_Data/Search folder at the backend and then checking PersonaBar > Host > Sitesettings > Reindex.
Perhaps I missed something: an update eliminating this bug or a setting somewhere within DNN or EasyDNNNews.
In other words: does anyone know if DNN exposes some setting  or feature to let deleted items be removed from search data within a regular sitecrawler cycle?
Thank you in advance for any piece of advice

Did you contact the module vendor?
I wonder if this is a DNN issue, but I'm not sure, I think they might be the best ones to answer that question for you.
