We recently purchased a theme from DnnVista in the DNN Store. I've tried reaching out to their support with no answers. It also seems their Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts are all suspended now. According to a recent post from DNN Store they highlighted new themes available from DnnVista as recent as early August.
The deeper we get into out project the more I am feeling like Wordpress would have been a better choice. It feels like DNN truely is a dead platform with very little interest these days.
Well, Wordpress sure has more vendors than DNN. But these are very different tools, so no idea what would have been the best for your project. As with both ecosystems, you can buy extensions from all kinds of vendors. The quality of the products or the service has very little to do with the platform itself.
For theming I have used NVquicktheme or Instant bootstrap for custom work or themes from DNNGo of it needs to be more cost efficient. That is a vendor that works for me and has great support. The last couple of years I also used Vanjaro a lot which can be best compared to Elementor or Divi.
BTW if I Google DNNVista, it says 'temporarily closed'. Don't know if that mean 'on annual leave' or something else but it would explain why support takes more time.
Btw, if you can share your question, one of us might be able to help out as well.
My questions were specfic to the DnnVista ProfessionalUs theme. It seems that the theme does not support showing the language flags. Also they made it seem it was so flexible that I could move the Login/User Info from the Footer to the Header.
While I know it would be simple for me to create a modified version of their HomePage and InnerPage and add the language and move the login/user info around but we paid $99 for this and were led to believe to believe it supported this.
I just took a quick look at the demo page. On http://demo4.dnnvista.net/professionalus/en-us/ they have language flags themselves, so that should be possible. Mind you that multiple languages should be activated and published in order to reflect on the website.
Moving controls to panes is something you see mostly in themes that have a plugin like Theme options. https://store.dnnsoftware...t-builder-24-designs for instance will allow you to drop the login control in the footer instead of the header. In the version I have the language control is not available for the footer, just the header.
But as you might see, that comes with a different price tag. For that price tag, you get a page builder as well.
I can imagine you don't want to switch themes during a project but it is just to show that there are great themes out there.
Dave, if your site it's all translated remember to mark as active the extra languages in order for the flags to display in public mode. If you get into trouble doing this from the DNN menu settings you can always update the PortalLanguages table in the DB and set to True the column "IsPublished". Regards.
