Our company wants us to upgrade the website we are running on DNN to .net framework 4.8, it is currently running on .net framework 4.7.2. Our DNN version is pretty out of date - 9.06. What I would like to know is would it be possible to upgrade to 4.8 while using this DNN version or do we need to update DNN and if so, to which version? Thanks in advance!

Should work. But anyway, I would upgrade to DNN 9.10.2 as well, just for security reasons.

      Happy DNNing!

Make sure you create a backup for files and database before running the upgrade. One thing that you could try is to create a test environment, run the upgrade in there and if no problem arise you can run it on production with no worries.

Test environment? You mean a VM that's running .Net framework 4.8?

I agree with Michael upgrade to DNN 9.10.2 and it will work...

By test environment I mean to duplicate in a differente hosting the same app and run the upgrade in this test environment mainly to identify problems that might arise and avoid them in production while running the update.

Thanks for the feedback! Does anyone know of any breaking changes between version 9.06 and 9.10 of DNN?

If you really meant v 9.6, I think that you are ok. But, to be safe, check the release notes starting at 9.6.

Yes you are correct it is 9.6, for some reason it shows in the UI as 9.06. I will review the release notes, thank you!
