Hi community,
I've a developer working on a custom DNN module for a client and he's telling me that when implementing the module in a page using the skin selected by the client (Glend) the website renders the module twice (like if you add the module two times within the same page) but if we implement the module in a page in the same website with the default DNN skin it doesn't render twice, it works like a charm.
My question to you guys, have somebidy seen this type of behavior before? and if you did, how can we work this out?
I know this is related to the skin itself because we already isolate the problem with another skin but I was just wondering if somebody here have seen this before.
Thanks.
Hello Marco:
I can't think of something specific to look for off of the top of my head, but you might be good looking through the theme itself to look for any references that seem related.
For example, look for any normal HTML tags that have the runat=server attribute specified. Each of these are a content pane. It's possible to specify some defaults in that same HTML tag. You might find a clue there.
Outside of that, maybe look for some included or embedded server-side code that might appear to cause this.
Do you perhaps have two panes with the exact same name, e.g. ContentPane ?
Or have you placed the module into a pane but also added it into ContentBuilder similar to How to use an DNN module in Content Builder – Minis – Help DOC (dnngo.com)
Thank you guys! I'll get right into your recommendations and let you know. I also have the DNN Skin provider looking into this.
