New Around Here

I have two portals on the same instance of DNN 09.02.02(178) and would like to create pages templates in one and then use these in the other to create new pages.

I have created the templates in Portal 1.

I then copy the 'XXX.page.template' file from portal 1 (F:\inetpub\wwwroot\XXX\Portals\1\Templates) over to portal 2 (F:\inetpub\wwwroot\XXX\Portals\2\Templates).

In portal 2 I now attempt to create a new page but the template is not showing in the template dropdown.

Other templates created inside portal 2 show up in the dropdown in prtal 2.

I have opened the XXX.page.template file and see ref to 'PortalID>1' so I change this to 'PortalID>2' resave the file and try again with no progress.

Surley this is possible and hopfluuy some one can point me in the right direction to save me having to recreate a number of pages manualy.

You have to sync the Templates folder or upload the template file using the Digital Assets Manager in DNN 9.2 (Manage -> Site Assets) instead of copying it in the file system itself.

BTW: You should upgrade DNN to the latest version (9.11.0) in order to get rid of the Telerik dependencies, which are a security risk in the meantime.

      Happy DNNing!
