Hi, is there a way to get rid of the fileversioning in the dnn (https://www.dnnsoftware.c...file-versioning.html is as far as i can see not available in the community version)
i want to see the picture i uploaded, not the picture it once was. I use prepared html scripts that reference images like this" ...src="/Portals/0/images/tab1.png but the image only shows the first version (a gray template image). making my templates useless. i have to edit every html text box to get the image URL correctly and cant use updated images and scanning the folders shows any image with sersion and timestamp. https://www.funwork.nl/Portals/0/images/tab1.png?ver=2019-12-25-173741-577×tamp=1577298664841 (and i dont want to scan manual every time someone updates a picture, but maybe thats something i can schedule. Somehow this looks to me as an awkward way of working.)
any tips? or tricks ? am i just not doing it right?
Just using https://www.funwork.nl/Portals/0/images/tab1.png (so, without the versioning) is not doing it for you?
Hi Tycho, thanks for responding :) the url shows a picture, but when i change the picture (by editing it, retouching it... it still shows the initial uploaded version.
so i edit: https://www.funwork.nl/Portals/0/images/tab1.png (edit it on the server with good 'ol paint) saved it, made a copy to another portal on the same machine to show you the difference: https://www.it-pro.nl/Portals/1/images/tab1.png i can rescan/sync in assets of funwork, but it wont show the correct (new) version except when i use the full name+version: https://www.funwork.nl/Portals/0/images/tab1.png?ver=2019-12-27-121023-380 as you can see the one with ?ver shows the latest and greatest, but makes using the normal (known) filename kind of unreliable.
thanks!
Strangely enough I see the same picture where you claim it should be different pictures...
interesting... that suggest that my browsers (IE and Chrome) have something cached... so now my puzzle begins with the where do they both have the same ''cache''... I'll investigate that once new years day has passed. :) thanks for the reply.
