DNN Platform v. 09.01.01 (129)
We seem to have this bizarre behaviour with any portal beyond Site ID 0 ie If a user is set up in the Site ID 0, page edit and upload permissions work as expected within that site. We can create users in any other portal say Site ID 2 and set their page edit permissions which also work as expected however when attempting to set folder permissions for upload in Site ID 2 any user attempting to use the HTML editor to create an upload link clicks the "Start Uploads" button gets the usual upload scroll bar but then remains on that upload screen with no error but the file no longer displayed, cancelling out of the upload screen back to the HTML editor just results in the user being logged out with no error shown in admin logs. Whilst trying to diagnose this the only way we have managed to allow a user to upload a file in Site ID 2 is to duplicate that user (including password) in Site ID 0 and then give "all registered users" permission in Site ID 2 (obviously not a satisfactory solution!) can't figure out what we have done wrong presumably during DNN install or sub-portal set up. Has anybody else had this or similar and found a solution?
Thanks Tycho.
Currently Running v.09.01.01 (129).
We are hosting our own sites, have tried setting permissions from "Site Assets" File management several times but no success. The odd thing being that the user interface obviously picks up the permission changes as it then presents the file upload button where it was greyed out and not available before setting permission but the upload still fails when attempted.

Did you try resetting the upload rights on the root of the portal? (from the asset manager) That sometimes helps
Thanks for reply Timo.
Yes tried that and just tried again (just in case!) but no joy, also tried syncing the folders.
On cancelling the upload dialog box and before being logged out we are now at least getting a pop up stating "User does not have permission to perform this task" but there is still no error showing in any logs.
Sorry for asking for the obvious, but did you force the rights on the subfolders?
Any suggestion is considered helpful at this point thank you but all folder permissions are set as we would expect to work.
We also temporarilly set all users to have write permission from root down to folder in question but even this does not work unless the user is duplicated in Site ID 0.
Another obvious question: Do you know that you need to allow roles to upload in the ckeditor settings?
