    Hi,

My DNN 9.4.4 site has gone through numerous upgrades, so it's not new.

I uploaded a new skin.  New meaning new to the site, it's a fairly ancient skin.  In themes in the persona bar I selected the new skin.  However the site continues to show the old skin.

    Things I have checked.

    • In the database, the portal settings table shows the new skin as both DefaultAdminSkin and DefaultPortalSkin.  The skin name is prefixed with the [G].
    • I turned off composite files on the site
    • I incremented the version count
    • I restarted IIS on the server
    • I cannot find any obvious place in the database where it has the name of the old skin
    • I cannot find anywhere in the site files that names the old skin

Despite all this browser tools shows references in the HTML to the OLD skin, and the browser tools network tab shows files being requested from the old skin's directory.

I am stumped for where it might even be remembering the name of the old skin.

Finally I deleted the old skin (from Persona Bar themes) and now I get an exception because the old skin files are missing.

    Can anyone tell me:

    • Where might it be remembering the name of the old skin?
    • How can I make it use the new one?

    Thanks,
    Richard

      Hi Richard,

Maybe the old skin is set at page level, for each page in your site. Check this in each page settings before going mad ;-)

I hope this helps you. Regards,
      Francisco

Thank you. A good point. That isn't it.

I did check for that too but forgot to say in the original post.
        Thanks,
        Richard

Well - always a good idea to go back and recheck things yet again.

Thank you for the prompt Francisco. There wasn't a custom skin set on every page in the site, but it was set on the pages I happened to be checking.

          Solved!
          Thanks,
          Richard
