I have a customer who wishes to have a simple dropdown with a list of 5 different items that would output a colored button (HTML), that once set, would display on other pages where that module was added to. What is the best way to achieve this. It seems like it should be relatively simple so I would hate to dump a bunch of money into a fancy module that would do way more than I need it to.

I did exaclty the same using Open Content
You can easily place custom CSS with it but I also created a template where the user can create custom buttons which can be selected when placing the module.
Unfortunately I haven't had a ton of time to look into either of these 2 solutions. Do either of you have some code or demo from these products that may get me started in the right direction?
Thanks!
