I just changed the Skins//inc/hdr.aspx file, but I don't see the changes on the site. Do I need to do something else before seeing the change?

      Jacob,

which skin are you using, and which DNN version?

Are you sure that the inc/hdr.aspx file is really "aspx" and not "ascx" - and that it is called by the skin that is active on the page?

It seem to be a third party skin, as with the standard skins I don't see a folder called "inc". Did you contact the vendor about it?

      Happy DNNing!

        Thank you for responding Michael.

Sorry I was out sick so my responses is a little late.

        I am on DNN version 09.01.01 (129)

Sadly, I don't know too much about the setup of this site as my company just got it from the client and are asking us to make "simple" edits to the header and footer. Here is a screenshot of the structure for your reference. I'm assuming this is the footer because I can't find any other references to a footer and the contents of this file match the output.

Again, I'm just trying to change some text and links in the footer and header - if there's a better way of doing this, I'm all ears.

        Thanks again.

          Jacob,

as I don't know anything of the skin you use I can just guess.

There might be a "text" skinobject in the header and/or footer, that should be editable using the language editor.

Or there is a pane in which a module is placed that is set to be displayed on all pages. Then you just need to edit the module.

Or it is hardcoded in the skin, then you have to find the file in which it appears and edit it there.

          Or...

Please check which skin is used - this is either in the page settings, if it is not there, it is in the portal settings. Then go to [installation root]\Portals\_default\skins\[Skin Name] - there you should find the skin file, and there you can either edit the header/footer or find which file is used as the header/footer by the include tags.

          Happy DNNing!

            Hi Jacob,

The skin you use is probably called jmfa. It's located on /portals/_default/skins/jmfa/
If you can post a screen dump of that level, we can see a bit of the structure. Now you posted /portals/_default/skins/jmfa/inc which is 1 level too deep to understand the theme.

Second look: I now understand as the inc stands for includes. which incorporate ftr (footer) and hdr (header).
As Michael said, usually, there would be ascx files.
If you want, I can take a look at the skin. If you send the skin folder ( portals/_default/skins/jmfa/ ) and the containers (/Portals/_default/Containers/JMFA )to [email protected], I can test it locally.
