Scenarios that cannot be automated should provide an alternative path to be run manually.

In order to allow users the run the manual tests and provide the results to the DNN team, we need to provide the required tools, environments and procedures that users without experience on testing will need in order to run the tests.

    • Tooling: azing (?)
    • Environment: public (containers, cloud adhoc, ...) vs private
    • Template to create new cases
    • How to execute a case
    • Reporting of results
    • Catalog of Test cases
    • Missing cases (request community for help)
    • Distribution of test cases for community volunteers
    • Adding new test cases to the list
    • Coordination with Release team
    • Group tests by Area
    • Group tests by Risk
    • Version all scenarios in Github

One thing that would be really nice it to be able to pull reports on what is yet untested or only tested a little so that people can focus on covering a bit of everything

I agree, Daniel. What if we had a public page where community members could self-report (and get credit) for having tested specific scenarios? This would help in many ways, including hold ourselves - as a community - responsible for testing and keeping the quality of DNN at a higher standard. As-is, no one has any direction or idea of where to start or if someone else is doing a portion of the testing they may or may not be aware of needing to be tested. :)

Azure test cases looked awesome, but not free. The Survey module got a revamp, not sure if it could be useful for this maybe... Or there are some free solutions out there which I did not have time to test out.

I wonder if that's that something the .net Foundation could help with?
