    Hi,
    I have this error when the wesite is loading:
    Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
         at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.GetSkin(PageBase page)
       at DotNetNuke.Framework.DefaultPage.OnInit(EventArgs e)
       at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer)
       at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

    after a DNN upgrade from version 9.03.02 to 9.05.00
    What can I do to receive more detalis on the error? What can I try more?
    The website was build on version 7 many years ago, but I was able to fix all the upgrade issues until now.
    Thank you,
    Andrei

      This possibly could indicate a skin problem.
      Assuming that the site loads, try creating a new page and assigning it an Xcillion page. If that works, then the problem is in your skin.
      More error logs are at portals/_default/logs, and the log4net configuration file in in the installation's root directory. You may need to alter that to increase the detail of the logging.

        Hi Joe,

        Thank you for your response. The site is not loading, even the login.aspx page gave this 500 internal server error. I can not create a new page.

        The error I found it in with the exception logged in eventlog table.

          Are you using a custom skin?

            What version of .NET?

            Did you look at log4net files?

              Hi Joe,

              Yes we are usign a custom skin. I looked also on log4net logsand I found also this error:

              [Thread:43][ERROR] DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.Exceptions - DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.PageLoadException: Unhandled error loading page. ---> System.TypeLoadException: Method 'CreateModuleControl' in type 'DotNetNuke.Web.Mvc.MvcModuleControlFactory' from assembly 'DotNetNuke.Web.Mvc, Version=8.0.3.5, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' does not have an implementation.
                 at System.Signature.GetSignature(Void* pCorSig, Int32 cCorSig, RuntimeFieldHandleInternal fieldHandle, IRuntimeMethodInfo methodHandle, RuntimeType declaringType)

              Before starting the upgrade process I had 2 errors:

              - one regarding the framework version (which I fixed upgrading to .net framework 4.7.2 )

              - one regading DotNetNuke.Web.Mvc.dll (which I fixed by replacing the dll file with an old version.) This kind of fixed I found on forums and I used I tink on all DNN 9 versions upgrade.

              I overwrite the DNN MVC file with the newer version from the upgrade package and now I have this error:

              [NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.]
                 DotNetNuke.Web.Mvc.MvcHttpModule.SuppressXFrameOptionsHeaderIfPresentInConfig()

              How can I fixed this?

                Hi Joe,
                I was able to fix the issue with the solution on this page
                https://dnntracker.atlass....net/browse/DNN-8869

                by removing clear tag from web.config file in the customHeaders section.
