Using Other Modules with 2sxc
Have you ever wanted to get data from a module and display it in ways that don't exist? Here I will show you one way that I have used code (tables, classes, and methods) from one module to create a somewhat different module view than envisioned by its developers. I will talk about (and maybe even demonstrate) ways that this approach can be extended to other modules.

• David kicked off the community events and news by talking about the DNN 9.10.2 release
• Ryan talked about the upcoming DNN Summit 2022, February 9-10 2022. He encouraged everyone to sign up and to check out the information on the website for DNN speakers, teachers, sessions and more. Additionally he talked briefly about the in-person plans for Las Vegas. • Our first speaker for SoFri, Sebastian L was unfortunately not able to join us today after having a bit of a bicycle accident. He was going to be in surgery for his arm during the meeting. He urged everyone to "be careful riding on wet leaves!". Ryan told a crash story, David shared a crash story, we all shared a sentiment for Sebastian to feel better soon!

Tonight's Presenter: Joseph Craig

• Joseph Craig began his presentation with a few technical glitches stopping screenshare and audio, but we worked through that and got started.
• Joe shared that he picked up the Ukelailai playing as a hobby. He created a website www.uke-info.com as a website for a calendar, meetup information to share with Ukulele enthusiasts.
• Joe talked about the NA Development module Event Module with Registration. He uses the calendar view of that module, but wanted a way to directly get data from the module that could be displayed elsewhere more directly and outside of that module.
• Joe used 2SXC Content to be able to directly load the data but in other presentations such as list view and detail view directly within 2SXC.
• By working with 2SXC for some displays, and the original calendar event module for managing the content and the event patterns and features for event creation, he was able to achieve custom display without having to "reinvent the wheel".
• During the course of the presentation, David and Joe talked about how this was achieved, how the 2SXC was made to call the DLL of the Event module directly to get the data from it... no SQL Queries needed!
