I don't completely understand the "not meant for setting up production sites" part. Why not?

IMHO, my production sites use to have certain folder & resource naming configuration that I can't achieve when using nvQuicksite. I guess that Timo may be referring to that... nvQuicksite is OK for a quick installation, but it lacks some DNN configuration settings.

Actually not.
nvQuickSite assigns (at least in the last version I checked) NTFS rights that you should not use on a live server IMO.
I spoke to David about this and he told me that it was never intended for use on production servers.
