Non techy/content manager needs to know how to edit meta page descriptions, as the page descriptions Google is picking up are not very user frendly. Why there is a description file on the page settings, it does not seem to be used for this purpose.

Currently on v. 09.02.00 (144)\,

Thanks in advance for the help.

Congrats on posting!

This is actually the first time that I hear about this. The way it works (should work):

The default is set at site settings. You can overwrite the meta tags in the page settings (Persona bar - pages - select page - description) and create custom texts that are more suitable for that page.

Having said that: I skipped 9.2.2. back in the days.

Did you check the page desciption in the page source or are you talking abotu wether Google picks it up?
First of all it can take a while before Google picks up those changes and if Google decides it does not fit the page content, the decription will simply be ignored.

Good suggestion.

I checked the source code and the meta description that I wrote for the page is included. I'm not sure why Google is not picking it up.
