Editor Error without an upgrade

Trying to edit a small box on my website, the editor keeps erroring out

Hi Sam, since some files are locked, I recommend that you reset the folder permissions on the whole file structure to "manage" level permissions given to the app pool user. Then restart the app pool and try again. I also see some javascript in your markup. Depending on which html module and your settings, that might be stripped out once you get saving to work.
