Hello,

On our Roles settings, we have Registered Users and Subscribers auto assigned set to 'on',

But somehow, new registered users are not being assigned to those roles.

What could possibly be the problem? I hope you guys can help me. Thanks.

You're an MVP!
which registration mode are you using?
If using "verified" users need to click a link to confirm their email address before they get assigned the auto roles.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the reply. I was wrong, the auto-assign role is working properly.  We have multiple sites, I'm new to DNN, and I wasn't aware that users will only be given default roles on a site they signed up on.

But I'm interested to know if there is a way to give the user a role across multiple sites.

You're an MVP!

There is a concept called "portal groups" or "site groups". There is a blog post about this here: bitboxx.dnn.blog.

Note: At the time the blog post was written, there was no UI for that in the Community Edition / Platform. Since version 9.6.0 you can find this UI in the Administration section of the Persona Bar, so you don't need to follow the steps in the blog post. I added the link because it helps understanding the concept.

Happy DNNing!
