New to DNN as a administrator (do not code) trying to find a way in 9.3.2 to insert a PDF auto fill form and have it emailed back when completed.

That's not default functionality in DNN. You need a module tat support this (I cannot advise you one others might)

As Timo mentioned you will need to utilize a third-party solution for this.

There are many options on how to do this, I don't have any specific experience with any of the vendors for this type of integration, however you might give Action Form a look: https://www.dnnsharp.com/.../action-form-builder

A few years back, I solved a similar requirement by embedding a function into a PDF file that would email the form.  I don't remember many of the details, but it worked.  It was a bit tricky to set up, and you need to tell the user what to do.

Essentially, all of the functionality was in the PDF, and all that DNN needed to do was serve up the file.  I think that it may have worked best if you got the user to download the form.

Thank you for your assistance, I will just have the user download the form.

I have built a PDF autofill form with a submit button that works perfectly but when I upload it to DNN 9.3.2  submit button will disabled along with a dropdown menu.

As Mitch mentioned: you might want to take a look at ActionForom. Yes, this module costs money but...it opens up a world of possibillities.

                • You can prefill a form with data from the website/database
                • You can generate a PDF (add on)
                • Send it (signed or not) to one or more email addresses
                • Store in a database or as the default xml
                • Reuse the data for other purposes.

                    Hi Mitchel,

Do you think utilizing a third-party vendor will not hamper the privacy element of the website? I found a Facebook article that this kind of vendor allocation may open up malware practices.

In theory there is a risk with third party components. Just as there is a risk when including external js, either copied code or include from a cdn. Key is to do proper research about the supplier / vendor of the code. In this case DNN Sharp has been a trustworthy vendor for many years within the eco system. Of course at times they implement things in a different way than other developers within the ecosystem do but that is normal and a healthy discussion. They have never implemented (or will implement) malware and are trusted my many, many site owners.

                    Hope this helps.
