    Hello Everyone:  

    Huge thanks to Timo Breumelhof and John Henley for donating a TON of effort toward getting the Community Forums module updated with some fantastic new features!  Those features include, but are not limited to: 

    • Rebranding the module from Active Forums to Community Forums.  
    • Incrementing the minimum supported version of DNN to 9.9+.  
    • Moved the template (theme) engine from the database to the file system.  
    • Added a new default template (theme).  
    • Added the ability to "ban" a rogue user account.  
    • Added the <Ctrl>+<Enter> keyboard shortcut to submit quick replies. 
    • Added FontAwesome and replaced all of the legacy image-based "icons." 
    • Improved performance overall in many areas, including implementing a more comprehensive caching logic.  
    • Removed a lot of legacy code that was no longer necessary.  
    • Resolved numerous bugs and usability issues. 
    • Added a ton of documentation to the Community Forums wiki.  

    Release Candidate
    Remember this is currently a RELEASE CANDIDATE.  This means that you should not use this release on any production website for any reason.  We expect there to be bugs and other oddities that we'll need to address before the official release.  Please only use for testing purposes.  

    We Need Your Help! 

    At this point in time, we're code-frozen except for localization and release note updates.  However, if there are any show-stopping bugs found, we'll try to resolve them before the official release.  

    Please take some time to test this monumental release.  The amount of changes and improvements is quite staggering and we're unable to test all of the major scenarios.  So please use your own development/staging environments to help us test this release.
