I have a Forms and List module the shows a list of documents. The documents can be seen by registered users or general public.

I have a requirement to be able to track clicks on the documents and download this information as CSV to admin users:

  • Document
  • User
  • IP
  • Date Downloaded

is that possible?

Did you try the module from Jan Jonas? This sounds like one of those cases where the purchase is much more efficient than spending days for a 'free' solution.

if you are using download data type, you should be able to activate url tracking or url logging and get the results displayed in edit view.

Hi Vicenç, I just tried myself and noticed: - you need to use URL data type and check "count downloads" - however, the URL control doesn't seem still counting clicks and therefore no report is created in FnL sorry for my misleading post

One of the things I've been implementing to help with tracking this and other common events is Google Autotrack. https://github.com/googleanalytics/autotrack
