Congrats on posting!

I have pages and sub pages in Dutch, translated in several other languages.

It gets messy when you delete a page.

  • If you do so, the pages in the other languages including their subpages are deleted as well. And this is not just when you delete the page from the primary language, also when you delete a page from another language.
  • When you discover this and take the deleted page from the recylce bin, the page is back. The translated pages are back but empty. At least the 'normal' modules are not on the page. Modules that are flagged as 'show on all pages' are back on the page but in all languages. And twice. So, Dutch module in the footer twice, German module in the footer twice etc.
  • This behaviour is the same if you had sub pages on the page you deleted and reverted.

So: is this a bug that should be logged? Or should I create an issue with the request to incorporate a warning when you try to delete a page that is translated?

  1. Deleting the page in primary language : "this page has been translated. If you delete this page, all translated pages will be deleted as well
  2. Deleting a translated page: "this is a translated page. Deleting this page will delete the page in all other pages as well. If you wish to delete just this language, disable this language for this page
Or is this all by design and is the editor expected to use a different workflow?

You are an engaged reader!

I think it's by design.
But it's also confising.
IMO we need an extra button.
[Delete] + [Delete All Languages] or some thing similar.
Or maybe an extra checkbox for the delete button [X] All Languages
