Congrats on posting!

Hi,

We have decided to change to a different theme/skin (Ozone2) we have made this the new default and swapped all pages. We want to completely remove the Xcillion skin but from a lot of reading we see there may be issues with trying to remove it and side effects or certain features not working properly.

What is the best practice in regards to this, and is it possible to completely remove the Xcillion skin without having any issues? Also when updating the site, will this cause any issues if Xcillion is removed?

There is no clear option to uninstall/delete Xcillion within the Admin GUI, unlike with other skins/themes, such as the Aperture skin.

Thanks

It is intended as fall back. So, in case anything happens to - in this case - EasyDNNSolutions or the licensing server, you have a working theme.

It does no harm, so why not leave it there?

Thank you for the reply.

We are mostly, at this point, just looking at our options, we have adjusted to a new easyDNN default theme, Ozone2, and we are trying to make a couple of decisions.

Can, and should, Ozone2 be used as a fallback or just kept for use with the pages, but leaving the fallback as the Xcillion skin?

Alternatively, make a new site on the latest DNN revision which, I believe, uses the Aperture skin rather than Xcillion as its fallback skin. Would this look better as a fallback for Ozone2, or would it not really make much difference? (this one might just require testing on a new development site, but thought it would still be worth asking the question)
