Hi

Edit solving the problem: Thanks to Timo Breumelhof, I've found out that the issue was related to having a Turkish OS. The Turkish_CI_AS collation was not helping me on DNN installation at all. Trying to install DNN on an English OS resolved the problem smoothly! I am putting this note in case anybody else faces with a similar situation.

I'm a new guy just trying to discover and learn more about DNN and I'm trying to make a local DNN site of my own. So far, I've followed all the required steps defined in the guide but couldn't manage to make the installation properly.

I've made a couple of screenshots that shows the steps I've done so far and I would like to get any help I can

Thank you!

P.S. Here is the link of my screenshots: https://imgur.com/gallery/Stb4ajl

Which versions of DNN and SQL Server are you using? I think I've never seen that error during DNN installation...

Hi Jackie,

Welcome!
For me it's been a while that I installed a DNN locally this way. Hope others can join in solving your issue. In the mean time, you can have a look at https://dnndocs.com/conte...nn-folder/index.html

The way I always install DNN locally is by using NVQuicksite https://www.nvquicksite.com/
It is worth to check this out. If you got this running, a DNN install will take minutes. And it is very easy to install different versions, test extensions, test upgrades etc.

I'm using DNN v.9.6.0 and SQL Server 2019 Express. I tried to check all the resources available on the net but I didn't see any similar situation either.

Well, I'm happy to say that I've already read the guidelines provided in DNNDocs. They're quite informative but unfortunately, did not help me in my case :)

I would like to know what prevents me from having a regular DNN installation on my PC in the old fashioned way but if I can't overcome this problem, I think I will go with your NVQuicksite suggestion. Thank you for that!

Not sure if that's the case for you, but I see some texts in your screenprints that could be Turkish?
I can be completely wrong, if so ignore my reply.
I remeber there were some issues with Turkish & SQL when installing DNN.
Maybe this helps you a bit: https://www.dnnsoftware.c...lation-turkish_ci_as

Yes, my OS was Turkish and installing DNN on an English system completely fixed my issue! I think the Turkish_CI_AS collation was the cause for my problem and I am very thankful to you for helping me overcoming this obstacle.

I also have renamed the topic title with a [SOLVED] tag and mentioned the root cause both on title and in the first post, to help others who would encounter to the same problem in the future.
