So our web developer left, we've yet to hire a replacement, and in the meantime, I'm managing the site.  I have web experience, but it's from 15 years ago, and no DNN experience.  2 departments have merged into a new department, and I need to change the style of the page (replace main graphic at top of page).

In the page settings of the page I want to edit, the page theme is Galore, the layout is called subsite-communications, and the page container is notitle.  There's no page stylesheet.  I assume I need to modify the subsite-communications layout to make the changes, but I cannot find where I would modify this.  It appears that each dept has their own subsite (subsite-deptname).  Where do I go to view/modify the layouts?  Thanks.

Hi,

I haven't use EasyDNNsolutions themes recently so I'm not 100% sure what are the correct steps to edit a theme template; but I'll share what I usually need to do with the themes I work with.

You most likely need to FTP to the server at "/Portals/XX/Default/Skins/..." and then select the skin you're using, check out the theme applied to the page you're trying to change (from the page settings) and extract the layout file so you can manually applied the changes you required and then upload the file again.

Galore skin is from EasyDNNsolutions, you can also try to contact them over and ask for support.

Important: make sure you run a fresh back-up before doing any changes in case you need to go back to default.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

First, I love your username!  😎😆😆

It sounds like you might need a DNN partner to help get you and your team up and running.  Or, just to have someone train/support you from time to time.  I'd suggest looking through the list of DNN agencies to find one or more you'd like to have help you.   😉

If you are able to use FTP and are confident, the instructions from Marco come along way. A skin or theme is just a folder with all files needed. So if you have a skin 'Communication' and want to create another skin derived from that: copy skin, paste skin and name it something else. The new skin will be available for you to select in DNN.

Now, Galore is a but more user friendle. On https://www.easydnnsoluti...ur-dnn-themes/galore you can see that there are out of the box layouts but you can also create your own. Styling can be done manually if you know a bit of CSS and where it resides. But there is also the style wizard for people not into CSS. The block builder allows you to build page with prefab layouts and options. Both are extensions so they need to be installed.

As you mention that you mainly want to change a background image, it might be an option set in the block builder. Depending on the setup.

Cheers
