Congrats, your posts are really liked!

When you click on the error, what's the detail? Please share the screenshot to take a look at the details from the error.

Also, did you run the test on the SMTP settings page?

Hello Team,

While using the basic authentication, I was able to test this test SMTP setting and get emails.

But while using OAuth, this test SMTP setting is not working, and for those error details, please check the screenshot.

Are you able to send a test email or send any other emails in other ways/places in DNN?

If not, then you know this is an SMTP issue and need to troubleshoot that.  Follow Marco's suggestion.

If you are able to receive other emails without errors, then I'd suggest looking into any custom settings you have in the Profile, Membership, Security settings.  There's a chance that a setting you've decided to use might have highlighted a bug.

For example, I've run into a similar issue in the past when I had a client site who needed to use RegEx to prevent offensive words from being used in usernames and passwords.  This broke several features and had to have workarounds put in place.

Setting up mail can go wrong at several places.
It could be the settings, but it can also be a full mailbox, a non existing mail address, or SPF protection for example.

The first thing you need to do is check if sending mail works at all.
So, under the mail settings in DNN there is a button that says something like "Test SMTP settings" or something.
If that works, then the SMTP settings in DNN are ok, so the problem is with "something" else.

Hi Team,

I’m encountering an issue with the password reset functionality. Although the admin logs show a "Password Sent Success"

message, I am not receiving any emails in my inbox.

https://github.com/davidjrh/dnn.azureadprovider

I followed the steps outlined in the provided documentation, including configuring Azure AD and assigning the necessary permissions.

On the server settings, I’ve selected OAuth as the authentication method and received the confirmation message:
"Your OAuth provider's configuration has been completed."

Interestingly, password reset emails are successfully delivered when using Basic Authentication, but they fail to arrive when OAuth is enabled.

Could you please advise on any additional steps or configurations that might be missing for the password reset emails to work correctly with OAuth?

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,
Durgesh Kumar Mishra

If you are using the third-party extension, it is my understanding that standard DNN reset password stuff will NOT work, as it would be the responsibility of Azure AD to handle any password reset, as that is the overall behavior of an external authentication provider such as Azure AD, etc.
