Changing passwords

I am trying to update the passwords for authorized users I created to test setting up a special content workflow. However, every time I click on the change password for my content manager, it switches to my super user profile. If I'm not fast enough, I change MY password. Account Settings from cogwheel

The search field suddenly populates with my logged in username, as if I'm searching for my profile only. But I'm not. I'm just clicking on the content manager's Change Password link (in either spot - cogwheel icon or three dots icon) and before I can place my cursor to type or paste, it switches to my superuser.

This effect isn't really just in this instance, as when I reset my password prior to expiration, I have problems getting my cursor to the password fields before the page reloads. It's honestly just difficult to change a password. How can it be easier so I don't have to play catch with a field or find myself changing the wrong password? Account Settings from three dots

    Thanks

Which DNN version and Edition (DNN Platform or Evoq) are you using?

I am on 9.1.1 and have been managing this website since 2017. I have never had any issues using the change password for users. I use it occasionally because some of my users cannot get a change password email. I tried the change password link and I am experiencing this exact issue. It switches to my super user account instead of the user for whom I want to change the password. Thanks for any help you can provide.

The issue is that your browser remembers your password. As I have not experienced this the last years, I guess somehow the issue was solved.

But for your version, I would just open a incognito browser session. This is not auto populating passwords and other fields, so you should be good to go.

9.1.1 is really old, as well as this thread. You should really upgrade, for security and a lot of other reasons.

It works fine for me in the User administration (Persona Bar), find the user in the list, click the three dots on the right side and click "Change Password". But I am on 9.13.4, no idea anymore about if that worked in 9.1.1 the same way or if something has changed since.

            Happy DNNing!

Thanks guys. The incognito browser worked. I realize this is an aging version, but this is the first time in seven years of experiencing this issue. This site is for registering users for an annual symposium. They can also sign up and pay for events, booth space, sponsorships, etc. The registration just opened so I don't want to do an upgrade right now. Once the symposium closes out next March I will get it upgraded. The site is fairly complex making extensive use of Data Springs modules and a lot of Open Web Studio. Been using DNN since v 1.e and love it.

                Glad it worked out.

When things settle down, please upgrade :-)
