I have worked on a new project that is running on in-house web server. I need to run the site from Internal IP as well as Public IP. The serve is perfectly accessible via both IP's.

The only problem is, whenever I access the DNN site it redirects me to the primary IP set under the site setting > site aliases

Note:

  • I am using DNN new version for this project (v. 09.04.01 (22))
  • All IP aliases are already added in the site alias
  • All other classic .net sites working perfectly with the same scenario

Currently, the web application is working perfectly with the public IP (81.XXX.XX.XX). Just i want that site will not redirect to the public IP when I access it through a local address like (10.100.200.3)

Looking forward for your urgent suggestions

Regards

In Site Settings, under the Site Aliases section, make sure you're using the Canonical mode instead of Redirect.

Hope it helps!

Also, after you change that setting, your browser may have cached some of the 301 redirects, so try using an incognito/private browser tab to test.

make sure, the alias with the public IP address is (tho only one that is) marked as "primary".

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The default setting is Canonical, I also tried None (also not workable), and redirect it's is working but public ip its working fine but when I hit the local address it redirects me to the development URL.

Regarding the cache, I know that I already checked it incognito.

I only mark the public address as the primary

http://82.***.***.***:9003/
http://82.***.***.***:9003/en-us
http://82.***.***.***:9003/ar-sa

These three public is consider as primary

If this is a multi-languages site with 2 languages, http://82.***.***.***:9003/   should not be set to primary IMO.

Yeah, hitting the URL without language will redirect to the primary. I don't know of any workaround for that behavior.
