Scenarios for Automated Testing

A few notes on areas where we might want to add automated testing.

Unit testing

  • Currently run by DNN Corp.
  • We don't have any visibility of when these are run and what is included
  • Move to DNN Community ownership
  • Integrate into CI process on Azure devops
  • Coverage %

UI/Browser Testing

  • Tools: Selenium, Puppeteer,...
  • Basic framework: create a set of supporting tools in order to be able to do import most common scenarios for testing (login, add page, add module, ...)

Database Testing

  • Review if current Unit testing scenarios cover SQL testing
  • Review VSSTools for testing
  • Need to support current DNN CI infrastructure, Azure devops

Other Automated Testing

  • Performance testing
  • Localization testing
  • Accessibility testing
