Nowadays, you can have a lot in the head of a page or website .
For example 1 page where we want to do some GEO improvements. In this case JSON LD and some metatags
The JSON LD looks like
I have to past that in a very tiny box
Below the json, I need to paste more stuff (meta data)
Then it gets crowded
For a regular editor it is hard to look at and screams for errors. And you don't want to maintain this piece of code like this.
What if we give the page head (and website head as well) a dropdown with 'Name'
If you expand the dropdown you can see the values of the names that are already there.
If you select one, you can edit. Or you can create a new one. (writing this, I realize you also need to be able to delete one :-) )
I am really looking for a solution that would empower marketeers. But if you say something is not easy, i tend to believe you :-)
Would an interface like this make things easier?
We've had our own solution in place for years now (using our own 2sxc App, AccuStruct). It started as just a quick way to solve per-page OpenGraph data so clients could make their posts look nicer on Facebook. But it grew.
How would these new page settings play well with existing solutions? Additional, as you pointed out, that box is a very small space. On a well setup site, there could easily be 5+ things to edit in there and (IMHO) a LOT of related useful info (docs, validators) that feels very necessary. My gut and experience tells me this idea is easily going to need its own PersonaBar Extension panel.
