Is it possible to sent a confirmation email to a user after they confirm their email?

We have a site with email verification enabled and we see that after doing the registration this things happen:

  1. the user is automatically logged in
  2. the user receives the welcome email as usual
  3. the user sees a message on all pages advising to go to their email and confirm the email
  4. after he verifies the email NO additional email is sent

First point is bit strange... if you have to verify your email how come are you already logged in? But I think I can live with it...

On #4 we are being asked to send a further confirmation email but I'm not sure this is possible currently. Anyone?

Hi, more widely, is it possible to have control of that whole process.

We have a multi-step onboarding for our Portal. 1- collect email and name 2- check the name against a watch list 3 - tell them they are registered 4- mail them to complete a registration profile 5- check their profile for being a competitor 6- send them a welcome email 'as authorised user' with instructions to go to a specific page or a rejection mail with the reason.

One way to do this is to write your own account login module. This is what I would have suggested several years ago.

These days I'd recommend DNN Sharp's Action Form module. It includes a basic for for doing registration, and shows you the way than you can do complicated, multi-step processes ... and mostly without coding, too.

Sure, you have to purchase the module, but it's not terribly expensive and will save you time, money, and tons of frustration.

in 9.4.2+ email verification now has a "RESEND" link in the message on all pages thanks to Ben!

In 9.4.3 there is a way to test sending emails now to a second admin account rather than just from host or security portal admin. There are a couple new features in the latest release. I think 9.4.3 is probably the best version of 9 yet as it keeps getting better.

A feature I would not mind seeing is ability to re-send verification emails to all users that are unverified on a regular schedule if you like. I am just not there yet as a DNN developer or I would of made it already for the community. I have about 2-3 more personal issues I am hoping the community can help tackle if I cannot do it myself to make DNN actually lift out of "Beta" version in my book. I wish we had more developers that knew how to deal with the bugs being reported and submit few more PR's with about 230 issues and really only a small handful of developers we are lucky to have what we have.

One option for sending any type of communication is the newsletter module, although it does not do password resets or email verification links, maybe that is an idea to make a token that would work in this that could offer these types of custom emails on demand. Maybe something also to look at for source for your own module.
