Hi, I am looking at two different portals both on  v. 09.02.00 (366)

One portal when editing links gives the Hyperlink Manager control which includes these options:

Track the number of times this link is clicked
Log the user, date and time for each click

The other portal just gives a Link control which does not include those options.

Is there a setting somewhere which would enable the hyperlink manager rather than just the Link control?

First, welcome to the DNN Community!

Are you talking about the same extension on both portals? And if yes: is this the same version of the extension?

When you go to the module settings, you see the module name in the basic settings - the text box is greyed, so you cannot change it.

The version is found in the Settings menu (Persona Bar) >> Extensions.

Happy DNNing!
Michael

BTW: You should upgrade to the latest version (9.10.2 at the moment). There are security issues in this old version...

Thanks for your reply and the welcome Michael!
I have checked the HTML extension on both and they have exactly the same settings, yet one portal's HTML editor's link icon brings up the Hyperlink Manager with the link tracking options and the other is the more simple link function which does not have it. One portal is relatively new whilst the other one has been upgraded, maybe that is why.

Can you check the HTML Editor Provider in use? You find it under Settings >> Site Settings >> Site Behaviour >> More, Click the "Open HTML Editor Manager". When a different provider is in use, chances are good that one of them is the Telerik RAD provider, you should get rid of it quickly.

If you find "DNNConnect.CKE" in the provider dropdown, change to it. If not, go to Settings >> Extensions >> Available Extensions and install it from there. If you don't find it there, you can download it from here.

After changing the provider you should quickly uninstall the Telerik RAD provider, it is old and has security leaks.

Happy DNNing!
Michael

Thanks again, so the portal that does NOT have the hyperlink manager has the correct HTML editor, the portal that does have the Hyperlink manager is just giving me an error when I try to access the Open HTML Editor Manager which does not seem to be a good sign. So I am guessing that we will probably just have to accept that that module has changed and the track links option is no longer available.

You might want to upgrade your sites, as Michael mentioned. That should also install the up to date editor provider. (always make backups and read release notes).

As you are at DNN 09.02.00, you will have to do a bit of work. Follow the recommended upgrade path, and you will have to navigate the somewhat pesky upgrade somewhere around 09.03.xx.
