I have copied the database, logs, and website folders to the new root directory (name has not changed),

backed up and restored the DB,

created a new website in IIS pointing to the website folder,

Modified PortalAlias to point to the new IP

I have a "Test.html" file that runs correctly in the root folder, but when I run the site, I get "404 Not Found
The requested Url does not return any valid content."

Thoughts?

Congrats, your posts are really liked!

George, we need to identify if the problem is server or platform related.

1) can you look into /Portals/default/Logs and look for the most recent file (today) and open that file with the notepad, take a look at the errors and if possible share the more recent ones here to help you out; this could help us out to determine if the problem is platform related.

2) Try to re-start the application pool in your server; yesterday, I moved over a fresh new version of a website I was working on in a test environment and after moving everything to production I got the 404 page for about 10-15 minutes, after re-starting everything on the server I was able to get the new version of the website working.

Hope this helps.

I ended up completely redesigning the site in DNN 10.01.01. The only issue I have now is that if a visitor registers and I approve them, they do not have access to the Members Area.  I have just posted a detailed expanation of the issue.
