The scenario I want is this:
URL 1 --> custom homepage --> user logs in --> url1/mydashboard

URL 2 --> custom homepage---> user logs in --> url 2 / mydashboard

My dashboard is the same page however should show the appropriate URL from the page user came from?  Also MyDashboard should follow the same skin as the main url page.

Is this possible with DNN? (I'm assuming it is) how do i set this up?

Thanks!

Congrats on posting!

If it is actually the same site, just add an alias under site settings.

The page itself would be different -- completely brand/colors/skin  the content for the homepage would be different, the internal user-generated content would be updated (in custom modules) based on URL.  So i have that managed.

what I want to know is how to show the different homepage based on URL and have the skin follow through.  can an alias have a different skin?

I think an alias can have a different skin (or styling) if you use the Style helper from 40Fingers: https://www.40fingers.net...ucts/DNN-Stylehelper

Cool  Thanks for that pointer.  Any idea how I can change content based on URL for the main landing page?

As I am not a developer, I would probably do an unconventional solution like putting an actionform on the homepage.
And then add a staticfield, do all the HTML I want and put a condition on that field with one of the DNN Core tokens like [Url:Domain] =='domainhere'
And below that a variant of that field but with a condition  [Url:Domain] !='domainhere'

Or maybe just a copy of the entire homepage, rework to what you want and put a redirect/forward on url2 to url1/home2

i'm leaning towards the action form solution.  The issue with the forwarding solution is it changes the URL which is not desirable.  Maybe though some type of URL manipulation maybe in order eg: home2 --> home2/page1

Thanks for the great ideas and pointers  I appreciate it :-)

The url would actually not change, was simply to show how the 'sitemap' would be. If you have both urls as aliasses, you should be fine.
