Search based on Created Date rather than Last Modified

    I have a client that wants the inbuilt Search to use the Created_Date instead of the Last Modified date.
    Is there a relatively straightforward way to achieve this?

      to be honest: AFAIK no.
      simply, because LastModified date is needed to detect changes since last index run.
