I was wondering if there are any tips on improving the general speed and functionality of DNN? We have some content editors that complain that the site takes forever when uploading assets, or it is slow when trying to link documents. When it comes to saving, sometimes the screen goes blank and one cannot save work, having to do it over again. Any suggestions on improving performance and optimization would be helpful.

That is very difficult to answer without more technical details.
I can be the hosting, the size of the Theme a Javascript conflict, etc.
Can you assign more server resources to the site?

Hi,

Thanks for responding. This is what we have as far as server space is concerned: 4CPU’s with 4 cores each and 64GB RAM. I think there is some room to add more RAM.
Our theme and skin is from easydnnsolutions. It uses the Vision skin, which is older.
As far as I know, I do not believe we have any conflicting Javascript, but I'll check with our developer and program analyst.

I don't know how many visitors you have but that should normally be more than enough.
Did you try using another skin as a test just to be sure?

What server make is this? What disk subsystem do you have? What drives do you have? Is it a Raid array, what kind?

We use a vSphere virtual environment and all other servers including Oracle and SQL run quickly
