Hi -
I'm just testing the new Resource Manager (DNN 9.13.3), looks great!
I wanted to ask if the new Resource Manager has the Get URL feature.
In the old File Manager (Site Assets), you could right click on any document in a folder and a pop-up menu would give you an option to Get URL (there's also a Get URL button in the toolbar). This feature is especially useful if the document in in a Secure folder and the normal filepath won't work.
Is there such a feature in Resource Manager?
Thanks
-Tom
First, hi neighbor! I live and work in San Mateo County. If you know or work with Donaven, tell him I said hi too. 😉
Interesting... I just checked the source code and it will appear under the following conditions (and it's actually labeled "Copy URL"):
Are all of those conditions true for you?
Hey neighbor !
Thanks - I don't believe I know Donaven, do they work at Santa Cruz County? Nice to know you're close by! I live on the coast just between Santa Cruz and Davenport.
Nice to meet you. Do you work fulltime on DNN? Thanks for looking into this. Since this is on a test website it doesnt have an 'https://' SSL cert. I just browsed with 'https://' and voila , I see the COPY URL option. Our live sites are all using SSL, so, problem solved.
Thanks again
Tom
Hello Tom:
Donaven doesn't work for the county, directly. I know he interacts with many elements of the county, though.
Anyhow, I'm happy that we were able to figure out the issue. I knew there was a weird condition for that feature, because I've seen it asked before. This is why I thought to go directly to the source code. I needed the reminder too! :)
And, yes. My team and I work nearly full-time on DNN-based apps and clients. We have some other platforms we work with from time-to-time, and many custom apps. Although, we've been doing a TON of security work for all kinds of ASP.NET-based applications since 2020 as well.
Posted By Tom Melkonian on 5/23/2024 1:37 PM Thanks Will - I was browsing your Upendo website (looks great) and I noticed you mentioned that you acquired the Glanton modules. We're using the AD-Pro Login tool (4.0) on our intranet site. I was trying to get ahold of them but couldn't reach anyone. Mainly I wanted to ask about compatibility with recent DNN versions. Do you know about that? Thanks Tom
Yes, please feel free to contact us at our main email address ([email protected]). However, please know that we ran into a major issue with the licensing engine and are actively working to replace it.
Sounds good Will. Thanks
Posted By Will Strohl on 5/23/2024 1:44 PM That feature should be there right now for you. If you click on a file, the features in the top of the module will change, and one of them should be "Copy URL." If you right-click on a file, a context menu will appear with a menu item of the same name. Simply click on it, and you'll be able to access the URL for that specific file. (Side Note: The right-click method works well, but you may have to look somewhere else on the page to see it appear. I haven't seen a single website instance yet where the context menu appears anywhere near the mouse icon.)
Will, can you check your browser zoom level and ensure it is 100%? Calculations are based on 100% and that could explain the context menu placement. I have not seen any issues with that so far. Otherwise, can you log it as an issue?
