I asked chatgpt
I need the code that I can add to a DNN Skin that creates floating buttons at the right hand side of the screen, offering share functions for Facebook, Linkedin and Mastodon

This provided a perfect answer. Ok, the buttons where not showing a logo but it all worked.

Congrats, your posts are really liked!

Willem, I use this third party tool https://sharethis.com/; I believe that if you pay you gain access to analytics a some other cool stuff.

Sharethis (but also AddThis etc) are services I would strongly advice against. Their services are questionable at best when it comes to privacy.

What they do is provide every visitor with a ShareThisID. They build a profile of every individual based on every website they visit that uses the ShareThis snippet. So, if you visit the newspaper website that uses ShareThis: it knows. If you visit the webshop that sells leather pants: it knows.

They actively sell the profiles they build. If you sell leather pants, you can get the profile of all users that are looking for leather pants.
If you are a health insurance company, you can buy profiles that visit extreme sports, buy cigarettes and Vodka.

If you use the snippet on your website, visitors instantly become part of this product.

Thanks for sharing Tycho! Will keep this in mind for future reference.
